Human Phantoms for Surgical research as an alternative to animal experiments
To fulfil ethical and legal requirements SARAS project is aiming to reduce, refine and replace live animal experiments according to the 3Rs principle.
PROJECT MEETING M15 – München in March 12-13, 2019
The 2nd SARAS’ Project Meeting held at Medineering GmbH at München in Germany on the 12th and 13th March it was the occasion to exchange and analyze information on the current progress of the project.
On the 1st day we discussed about the Status of SARAS, the MULTI-ROBOT platform, Action recognition and Future Event Prediction and 3D model.
Work in progress – Part 2: testing phantoms & SARAS’ MULTIROBOTS Surgery Platform
In occasion of the 3rd, the 4th and 5th meetings held in January and February 2019 some progresses have been made at the Department of Computer Science in the University of Verona (Italy).
This is the expected result of the functioning of SARAS’ Arms with the new phantoms after one year project.
THE 2ND MelaTX WORKSHOP – Seville in June 6-8, 2018
UPC participated in the Second MelaTX workshop held in Seville in June 6-8, 2018.
UNIVERSITAT POLITÈCNICA DE CATALUNYA (UPC) developed together with surgeons of Hospital Virgen Macarena (Seville) and Hospital Clínic (Barcelona) this training platform for the surgical training in the frame of a the workshop 2nd MelaTx Workshop.
25 surgeons from all around Spain (10 hospitals from 10 cities) participated in the Course on 7 experimental platforms.
